Young boy charged with sexually assaulting a toddler
http://www.waff.com/Global/story.asp?S=4449186
Feb 28, 2006, 09:06 AM

A young boy is charged with sexually assaulting a 3-year old relative.

Authorities say he got the idea from a television show.

When parents heard the news that a 5th grade boy was arrested for sexually assaulting a 3-year old male relative, they had plenty to say about it.

"I'm sad to hear about that. Something need to be done," says Edith Jones.

"If a 10-year-old does it, you don't know who will be out there doing that to other kids or anybody," says Joanie Lane.

Oral sex got very popular with kids, even some grade school children, after the Clinton impeachment effort.

That's all Clinton's fault. That's the way Republican "personal responsibility" works.

Maybe he got the idea from watching one of those helpful "to catch a predator"-type reports.

Anyone notice that Prozac, Rod and June5"s only comments about this story were made to jest? Not one word about the 3 year old and or the 10 year old....or the complicated dynamics of the story, you three deserve each other....and old Rod makes this blustering post about the soldier in Korea assaulting the kids and ask if anyone cares? Unbelievable....

You know June5 I took a little time, not much and scanned your post to a few threads...In October you came on the site asking advise from the SO's pertaining to your husbands upcoming release and your emotional conflicts associated with it, his attemped rape conviction and your discovery of the 1985 charge. Then in January you posted about the rape at 15 ....this is what I think...I think you werent getting enough play as the wife of an SO and it limited your acceptance in the general forum. So you garnered the rape post in hopes your views would not be challenged in the overall board. I am not saying you were not raped, but what I am wondering is why it took you so long to enter the victims forum with your rape story, and then go on the tangent of people should be more sympathetic to the victims and leave the SO's alone...then daily as I read your post ..your line in the sand is very clear....I dont know why ...and I may be way off base, but something in my gut tells me you owe the people in the victims forum an apology. If I am wrong I apologise, but from PM's I get ...I am not the only person who feels this way...

I notice you have nothing to say about it either. Why talk about the issues when you have a chance to attack somebody, right? Seems to be the rule of the day with the so-called 'advocates' around here.

"I'm sad to hear about that. Something need to be done," says Edith Jones.

That's right, Edith. Let's get something done so this won't ever happen again. I know. Let's enact a 45,000-foot law and a ban on RSO's working at Chik-Fil-A. Keep the RSO's away from the schools and the restaurants and this sort of thing will go away. Yeah. That's it. That will do the trick.

Now if this kid knew he had a person he could talk to about his unhealthy desire for oral sex.......had somebody to talk to about what he saw on television..........had somebody to talk to about the fact that Mom leaves the bedroom door open all the time while having sex with her boyfriend........just plain out had somebody to talk to, maybe this wouldn't have happened. But since I work hard to find a way to provide him and others with that person to talk to, I'm a nasty pervert. Go figure.

I know. Tell him to call the Probation Office.
Kid - I saw this show on TV last night
PO - Really? About what?
Kid - This guy made a boy put his winky in his mouth.
PO - Oh yeah? Was it at Chik-Fil-A?
Kid - No silly, it was at his house.
PO - Oh. Well look, I gotta go. CLICK.

That was not jest at all. No joke at all. All this focusing on sex perverted his mind. That is NOT funny. We will see more and more of the same problem because kids hear it on the news or see it on TV.

Nice try, but my post was genuine concern. No surprise you perverted my post.

The sick thing is that he was charged with a crime. Kids do this typr of stuff. They know there is something about the opposite sex and they somehow know what it is. without TV. TV and movies and media do however fill in the blanks.
Where are we going to draw the lines. I know we need the lines because a 17 year old boy having oral sex with a 3 year old is a crime but I just don't think this one can be a crime.
If it is. Then we have to admit that the ten yr old knew what he was doing. What can we say then if the ten year old had sex with his 23 year old teacher? How do we flip-flop these kids between victim and criminal?

You know what I feel about this? I feel that the prosecutor that is going forward with this is a pervert and a rapist. Someone getting his jollies interviewing the kids and getting the details.
When I was a boy this would have amounted to a good ass-kicking and then it would never, ever have been mentioned again.

In public. On this forum. It is best to take people at their word. I cringe when you attack as well as when you are attacked.
Maybe we all otta get together and have some coffee and see each other's eyes. Let's play nice. Okay?

Well, Val, here is your apology. I am SO SORRY that I don't fit into your little definition of what a "victim" is supposed to be. Since you seem to want an explanation, I will go ahead and indulge you.

I am pretty sure you are correct about the time-line on my posts. I was raped when I was 15. It is something I have very rarely thought about for several years. I posted to this site, as you mentioned, because my husband had been convicted of a sex crime. That was essentially the overriding problem I was dealing with at the time. So I posted here to get advice from the SO's, that is true.

The more that I looked at this site, I noticed all of the different areas and issues that were being discussed. I checked out the victim's forum. I haven't been a "victim" in some time but I was moved by the stories of people who have been recently victimized. I felt bad. I made posts to some of them with whatever advice that I could think of.

Actually, I believe my line in the sand is very clear, also. My line in the sand tends to be that I have empathy for most people. I don't see things in the same "black and white" that you do. Am I supposed to hate my husband, Orolan, or any other SO on this board because I was raped? They weren't the ones who raped me.

I don't know why this particular post angers me the way it does, but I am steaming! I guess you can't put the two together--I was raped and now my husband has recently been convicted of a sex crime. Kind of sucks to be me, doesn't it?

You are saying that I wasn't raped, or else you wouldn't be saying I owed the victim's forum an apology. I invite any interested parties to look up all of the posts I made in the victim's forum. Tell me again what I did wrong?

I really wish we knew each other Val. I would be more than happy to walk you down to the courthouse and show you the file from my case. The guy was acquitted, but I can certainly prove he was prosecuted, and that I was the victim. If you don't believe it, that is your problem.

I guess a victim is supposed to act or think a certain way, or else she isn't a victim.

As far as your PM's, if anybody has anything to say to me about my posts, they can go ahead and PM me personally.

all im thinking about is how this kid is going to be doing 25 years in prison, will get out when he is 36 and will have to wear a GPS, unless he is lucky enough to be molested before his trial. at least then they will be blame it all on some SO somewhere and he will then be declared a victim. you are right quest. Had he been sexually abused by say, a 14 year old, he would be getting the full blown " you poor victim, you'll never be ok again" routine.
lets face it, kids do these things and it should be dealt with on every level EXCEPT the judicial level. our judicial system is full of hypocrites

That is fine. We don't know each other in real life, but if we did you would know that I pretty much always come right out and say what I think. I' m not one to play little games to try to get people on my side. Actually I'm not really good at it. I'm about as subtle as a mack truck.

Is this in Florida? In Florida are they able to charge 10 year olds as adults for this type of crime? In my state there are only certain crimes that kids can be charged as adults for.
