I understand that many people here were sexually abused and some falsely accused of rape. Fortunatly I did not have such experiences.

Unfortunatly, at 34 my dream of becoming a lawyer went down the drain. But I still like justice statistics. I have made some amazing discoveries in that area -- like the fact that data presented by Bureau of Justice Statistics does not match state data by about 10%.

Here I have many more questions then answers about sex cases.

1) Out of all sex convictions, what percentage are
i) Pedophilia cases?
ii) Date rape cases?
iii) Nonromantic acquaintance rape cases?
iv) Stranger rape cases?
What were these percentages 10 years ago?

2) According to BJS, 90% of sex offenders are convicted by guilty
plea. Does it mean that few of those convicted (but many
convicted by juries are innocent? I mean very few innocent
people would plea bargin to get a prison sentence.

3) Where can I get a "snapshot" of cases in an AVERAGE court. Not
publicised extraordinary cases but a snapshot of an average year
in an average court?

See an abbreviation or acronym, but don't know what it stands for? Consult the Glossary.
