I can't quite figure out who is worse.....the mother or the freakin' mayor. They both need to be fitted with a good pair of concrete shoes and take a nice swim!

Woman Sentenced for Giving Girls for Sex

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) -- The prostitute who provided her pre-teen daughter and niece to former Waterbury Mayor Phil Giordano for sex was sentenced Friday to 10 years in federal prison.

``I can't conceive of anything more horrible that a mother could do to her child,'' U.S. District Judge Alan Nevas said when he imposed the sentence.

The woman could have received up to 20 years under federal guidelines on charges that she conspired with Giordano to entice the girls, who were 8 and 10, into performing oral sex on Giordano at various times between November 2000 and July 2001, when he was mayor.

But prosecutors asked the judge to consider the woman's cooperation in prosecuting Giordano, who is now serving 37 years for violating the girls' civil rights. He also faces state sexual assault charges.

The Associated Press is not identifying the woman because of her relationship to the sexual assault victims.

The woman spoke briefly during the sentencing hearing, and apologized to the girls, who were not in the courtroom.

``I would like to let them know that I am capable of change,'' she said. ``One day, I will get out and hopefully be a role model to them.''

Defense attorneys said the woman was addicted to crack, and had herself been prostituted at an early age.

Nevas told the woman she was also a victim in this case, and that Giordano bears most of the responsibility for what happened.

``He's educated,'' Nevas said. He's a lawyer. He's an elected official. ``He had all the advantages that you never had. He abused you.''

With time already served, the woman could be eligible for release from prison in 2009.

Giordano still faces state charges that he sexually assaulted the girls and could be sentenced to life in prison if convicted. Giordano has said he never touched the girls, but that they sometimes watched him have oral sex with the woman because he found it arousing.
